It is a very nice hotel although it is clear that time has taken its toll on the building. It is surrounded by a beautiful lush garden.
Our room was Royal Duplex and there was a clear need for dehumidifying. There was this humid musky smell everywhere, and the bathroom was asking for refurbishment.
Bear in mind the high and low tides in the period of your holidays – on the upside, the swimming pools are quite excellent so you can swim anytime you want, it’s just that you can’t always swim in the ocean.
I absolutely loved the staff, I couldn’t ask for more friendly and efficient employers.
There’s a mall nearby (Bali Collection) where you can try local foods at low prices.
The town, Nusa Dua, is a bit isolated from the rest of the island – in terms of quality of stay – so if you fancy seeing real Bali, you’ll need to take a trip.

We stayed at the Melia Bali – The Garden Villas last week, and enjoyed every second of it.
Our Garden Villa was pure luxury, the staff catered to every one of our needs and always with a smile and we found the property overall to be simply stunning in natural surroundings, and the beach to be gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious and the restaurant on the beach offered some great snacks we sampled. We had a massage booked and where so impressed with the environment of the spa as well as the professionalism of the massage therapists.
We cannot wait to go back, and we’d highly recommend this property to anyone!

For the third time we have visited a Garden Villa with Pool at the Melia and find we still enjoy. It is typical Indonesian style Hotel, not your modern Western type facilities, but the service and facilities are to be appreciated.
The beach bales, which are the perks of being in a Garden Villa, are terrific and the staff absolutely first class. We could not fault anything.
In particular Miss Carmen, was a delight and you can certainly see the changes taken place whilst she has been in operation. Wouldnt bother going anywhere else in Nusa Dua.

Room Tip : Garden Villa with Pool
The Melia is a really lovely hotel. We stayed in a family room and although not huge quite comfortable. It is a big hotel but it doesn’t overwhelm you with crowds at all. The pool is great and the occasional pool activities kept the kids happy. You can enjoy lovely beach walks past all the other resorts! Nusa dua is quiet so be aware of this, we did 4 nights there & then followed up with 10 in Seminyak and enjoyed our time there but any longer with kids may have been different.
